Join us for the 2010 Gaston County Amateur Golf Tournament to be held Friday, September 17, 2010 through Sunday, September 19, 2010. Qualifying will take place Friday and Saturday at the Gastonia Municipal Golf Course with the final round on Sunday at Gaston Country Club. To be eligible to play, you must be a Gaston County resident and also an Amateur golfer. Entry is limited to the first 96 paid entries. The cost is $95. Please complete the following registration form and return it to the Cancer Services office with your paid entry fee.

Labor Day 5K and One Mile Fun Run

Gather your friends, family and co-workers  and join us on Labor Day at Lineberger Park for our Eighth Annual Labor Day 5K and Cancer Awareness Walk. The race starts at 8:00am with a one mile fun run starting at 8:45am. The fun run is not timed. An awards and survivor recognition ceremony will then follow. 

Not only is this a fundraiser, but a tremendous community cancer awareness event!  Our 2009 LD5K had over 400 runners/walkers and raised more than $11,600 for Gaston County residents living with cancer. 

Entry forms will be mailed in late July or you may register on our site under the events portion of the calendar section.

We are participating in Bi’Lo’s boostersplus fund-raising program this year. We can earn money by simply shopping at any Bi-Lo with our BonusCard. Just get an enrollment card from the Cancer Services’ office. Give the enrollment card to the cashier along with your BonusCard to be scanned with your grovery order. You only have to do this one time! Cancer Services will then receive one percent of your purchases! Also, get some extra enrollment cards and give them to your family and friends so they can help us raise money as well! Cancer Services and CaroMont Cancer Center are proud to host a Pink Ribbon Spotlight luncheon on July 27th, 2010 at Noon at the Cancer Services office. Special guest speaker is Dr. Melissa Matulis.

Seating is very limited for this ladies only event, and you must have a reservation. Please call (704)864-1271 to RSVP before July 23, 2010. The cost is $10 per person and is payable at the door.

Cancer Services is proud to be a participating organization in Food Lion’s MVP Community Rewards Program. For each MVP card that is linked to our organization, Cancer Services receives a percentage back.

Please note, we have done this in past years, but must re-link the cards again due to changes in the MVP program.

Then, once our name and address appears, you must click add to link your card.

If you are a Cancer Services client, please drop-in from 9:30am – Noon on Wednesday, June 30. You may pick up your liquid nutrition and other supplies on this day. We will be offering free haircuts to those who are interested and also will be playing BINGO.

Please make a note to also bring your MVP card so that we can link your card to Cancer Services. For every shopper who links their card to our organization, Cancer Services receives a percentage back.

Please print out a copy of this permission form and have your parents sign it and bring it with you on Friday, May 7.

We will meet at 4:30pm at the Cancer Services office.
