Dr. Dustin Letts

Having my own personal oncologist and gastroenterologist was not on my list of things to do before age 40.

However I found out some pretty bad news 6 months before turning 40.

With more help from family and friends than I ever imagined or will probably ever realize, I made it through surgery and 6 months of chemotherapy.

I often thought about how fortunate I was to have friends and coworkers that helped me through the difficult times. Most of all I was thankful to have a loving and healthy wife who kept my world from collapsing around me and kept me focused on getting better.

When we saw the work being done by Cancer Services of Gaston County, we both realized this was an opportunity for us to help those suffering from the same or worse problems.

It truly is an organization that provides desperately-needed support to people whose world has just collapsed.

I consider serving as a board member both a privilege and honor, and I am very proud to be a part of Cancer Services of Gaston County.
