Cancer Services of Gaston County Raises $187,000 from Faces of Hope Gala with Guest Auctioneer WCNC’s Larry Sprinkle

Cancer Services of Gaston County held its annual fundraiser, Faces of Hope, in April at the Gaston Country Club. The theme for the evening was “A Splash of HOPE Goes a Long Way,” and guests were asked to wear a splash of purple. The event included dinner, a silent auction, live auction, “Champagne Game” sponsored by Facet Foundry Jewelers, Belize Destination Raffle, and dancing with music by Caleb Davis. Cancer Services’ Board President, Dr. Jerome Butler, was the Master of Ceremonies. Guest auctioneer for the live auction was WCNC’s Larry Sprinkle. With Dr. Butler’s help, Larry auctioned off trips to Kenya, France, and the Dominican Republic helping Cancer Services raise a record $187,000 to help Gaston County individuals and families living with cancer.

Since 1977, Cancer Services of Gaston County has been an invaluable resource, providing programs and services free of charge to individuals and families living with, through and beyond cancer. 100% of the proceeds from Faces of Hope stay right here in Gaston County and will be used for their Patient Assistance Program. This program provides liquid nutrition, medication assistance, mastectomy bras and prostheses, medical equipment, transportation, and other needed supplies as well as prevention/early detection programs in our schools and community. Last year, Cancer Services provided 5,357 direct services to 549 individuals living with cancer.
