$40,000 CaraMont Health Foundation Grant
Cancer Services of Gaston County has received a $40,000 grant from the CaroMont Health Foundation to fund their Patient Assistance Program to help Gaston County individuals and families living with cancer.
Since 1977, Cancer Services of Gaston County has been an invaluable resource, providing programs and services free of charge to individuals and families living with, through and beyond cancer.
The grant will be used to provide liquid nutrition, medication assistance, mastectomy bras and prostheses, medical equipment, transportation, and other needed supplies as well as prevention/early detection programs in our schools and community. Last year, Cancer Services provided 6,402 direct services to 607 individuals living with cancer.
“A cancer diagnosis is devastating not only physically and emotionally, but financially. Cancer Services makes a difference in our community by easing the burden on individuals and families going through the cancer journey. We greatly appreciate the support and generosity of the CaroMont Health Foundation. We could not do what we do without the support of our community,” Kim Elmore, Executive Director of Cancer Services, said.
The CaroMont Health Foundation seeks to support CaroMont Health in providing a vital connection between care and the communities it serves through the provision of grants, scholarships and other support. All donations directly support programs intentionally designed to improve the lives and health of your neighbors and community, by creating a more targeted approach to tackling the present and persisting healthcare issues in our region.
